"The app couldn't be loaded"
If you are unable to load the GovX ID app in Shopify, this is a temporary and known issue that can be mitigated until a permanent resolution is made.
This is what you will see if you are loading the GovX ID app in Shopify using a recently updated version of the Chrome browser:
Will customers see this error?
No, customers or shop visitors will not have any issues viewing your shop or utilizing the GovX ID app for claiming or redeeming offers. The issue only persists when viewing the app as a seller from a recently updated Chrome browser.
How to Fix the Issue
There are two ways to resolve this issue:
- Use a different browser
- Update cookies settings in Chrome
Fix Method 1: Use an alternative browser
This solve is self-explanatory—you can use Firefox or Safari until our long-term fix is released.
Fix Method 2: Update cookies settings in Chrome
- Open Chrome and go to Settings
Normally, you can access the settings page through the menu icon. But you can simply access Chrome's “Settings” page by entering the command “chrome://settings” in the address bar without going through the menu.
- Go to the Privacy and security tab
- From there, go to the Cookies and other site data section
Click on Add to add the following:
- Restart your browser and try accessing the GovX ID app — it should work now as before.
