Shopify POS Integration

If you use the Shopify POS system for in-person sales, you can accept GOVX ID discounts in your store. 

There are a few steps to set this up.

Step 1: Enable QR Codes

• Go to your GOVX ID app and click Settings
  

• At the bottom of the Settings under the heading "QR code for Shopify POS", check the box and save your settings.

Step 2: Add GOVX ID tile to Shopify POS app

• From the Shopify admin panel, select Settings under the Point of Sale channel on the left menu.

• From settings, select POS apps > GOVX Discount

• Click Add on the Smart grid tile to add the GOVX Discount tile to your Shopify POS app

• You should now see the GOVX QR Code Scanner on your Shopify POS app.

Step 3: Display Offer In -Store

Once you've enabled GOVX ID in your POS, advertise your Military and/or First Responder discount by the register in your store. The easiest way to do this is to post a QR code that your customers can scan to start the verification process.

• Go to your GOVX ID App and click into the Deploy tab. Then go to "Custom".

• Download the QR code, print it and display it next to your register or anywhere else that is visible in your store. Get creative in how you advertise the offer. 

How does it work?

1. Customer claims a QR code:
   • Your customer scans the QR code that you've posted at the register with their phone
   • The QR code links them to a verification page where they can register and verify their affiliation. If they already have a GOVX ID account, they simply log in.
   • If they qualify for the offer, they will see a QR code that they can present to you.
2. You scan the QR code:
   • Tap the GOVX ID Discount tile on your POS screen to open the QR code scanner
   • Scan the customers GOVX ID QR code
   • If the QR matches a valid discount, it will apply to the order and the scanner will close
   • Continue with checkout as usual - the discount will be applied to eligible products on the order.
